The RC42 is a newer model in our New Balance collection but it’s already one of our favorites.
We're big fans of the New Balance RC42, and we'd love to tell you why.
This New Balance model is a nice addition to the low profile trend that has been dominating the streets for several years now. With inspirations from the '70s like suede textures and retro colorways, these sneakers have a super cool, vintage vibe.
To all low profile fans: add this gem to your wishlist right away. Thanks to its subtle and sleek silhouette, the RC42 is easy to wear with many different outfits. A super chill addition to your sneaker collection, for sure. For example, go for a beachy look like Gaetano by styling them with light-colored, airy pants and a tank top. Even under a baggy fit, this streamlined sneaker stands out - just take a look at Menzo.
Let's also take a moment to appreciate the colorways because they're too good not to highlight. New Balance has certainly succeeded in creating a vintage atmosphere with the color selection of this release. The dark, retro-colored uppers of the RC42 'marsh green white' and 'navy black' feature a white leather 'N' on the side of the shoe that pops out thanks to the color contrast.
The 'butterscotch' is really the showstopper of this collection. A rougher suede upper combined with a smooth leather logo. All this in a bright, ochre yellow and a chestnut-like brown. How sexy does that sound? This autumnal colorway also makes the 'butterscotch' totally ready for the upcoming season.
For a more neutral option, there's also the 'sea salt classic pine'. This one has a white upper with different textures, creating a layered look without taking away from the simplicity of the design. The pop of color in this colorway comes from the logo, which has a fresh, green hue.
Sick colorways, a razor-sharp shape, and a super clean design. All in all, a rock-solid addition to the New Balance lineup.
So, are you a fan yet?
