We've had the Contender in our collection since 2021, and we remain a fan of the model.
The Contender was originally released in 1995. The model was introduced at the same time as Mizuno's Mondo Control, based on the design ideas of Mizuno's founder, Rhiachi Mizuno. The Contender borrowed the design from this Mondo series.
The rifle green and yellow spice colorways are real eye-catchers. They remind us a bit of the famous curry colors, definitely one of the most distinct Contenders we have seen so far. A stark contrast with the quick silver and silver cloud, which contain more icy colors.
The upper is made of mesh with synthetic leather and suede. Reflective details on the heel provide extra safety during dark rides for all colorways.
