The Clyde was originally born from a collab with basketball legend Walter Frazier.
It's the 70's and the New York Knicks are on a nice streak in the NBA. Point guard Walter 'Clyde' Frazier is gaining fame for his dribbling technique. He owes his nickname Clyde to the Fedora he wore a lot in his early career. The hat resembles that of Clyde Barrow, from the movie Bonnie and Clyde. Frazier, along with his team, had the best year, to this day still, in Knicks history. As a sneaker fan, the basketball player wanted a custom pair for himself. For this, he approached Puma and the Puma Clyde was born.
Since Frazier is a fan of vintage style, the sneaker was given a retro basketball look. The upper is fully suede with synthetic lining. The Clyde has a comfortable insole with rubber mid- and outsole. A basic that is easy to style but also has a unique touch due to the fuzzy texture.
