Puma has re-released the classic Palermo model, a sneaker that originated in the 1980s football world. Surprisingly, the sneaker is not necessarily associated with athletes, but with the fans. The Palermo is linked to the terrace culture of the 1980s, mainly in the UK and Italy. Terrace culture describes the vibe that exists between the stands of a football match, think cheering, singing, and clapping. But also what people wear.

For true football fans, these matches were and are important events that define them. Puma's sports label ambassador, the British Dua Lipa, confirmed that the shoe should evoke a sense of nostalgia in people. The Palermo's should take you back to the time of football fans in the 80s, when polos and v-neck sweaters were in fashion and were combined with casual lace-up shoes.

The sleek retro design is topped off with a unique touch: a gold Puma logo that falls loosely over the shoe. Like the original version, the shoe also has a T-shaped toe and the classic gum sole. This style of shoe seems to have been making a comeback for a while. For example, look at the popular Adidas Samba sneakers. This shoe model has a vintage feel and is a simple but unique addition to a sneaker collection.
