In early October, Saucony dropped the 'Moon Phase' pack, and we've got the very special Pro Grid Omni 9 from this drop in our collection. This sneaker is inspired by the 'autumnal equinox', hence its name. To be honest, we had to do a bit of research to figure out what this is, but we've got it now... more or less. Here's a quick lesson from us: the autumnal equinox is an astronomical event that marks the beginning of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. There are two equinoxes per year, one in autumn and one in spring. During an equinox, the sun is positioned exactly above the equator, and the length of day and night is (approximately) equal everywhere on Earth — quite a special day indeed! In 2025, the autumnal equinox will take place on Monday, September 22nd at 20:19, just so you know.

Now that we're familiar with the phenomenon, we can finally dive into the design of the Pro Grid Omni 9. Both the autumnal and astronomical inspiration are recognizable in the design of this sneaker. The dreamy, dark color palette comes back in various finishes. The base is made of black mesh with a glossy, dark red tint hidden underneath, making an appearance through the mesh holes. The same red tint is also carried through to the laces and suede overlays. Metallic blue overlays and iridescent details with a contrasting gold/yellow Saucony logo give the finishing touch to this special sneaker. Once again, a very good multicolor palette from Saucony.

As if the astronomical equinox theme wasn't recognizable enough, Saucony adds some next-level details that further reinforce the story. The astrology enthusiasts among us might recognize it immediately, but on the tongue of the left shoe, we see the golden symbol of the zodiac sign Libra. The Libra period begins on September 22nd, which happens to be the exact date of the autumnal equinox. On the right shoe, we see an image of the different moon phases. We also see these symbols appear on the box and in the insole of the shoes. Saucony has paid attention to every detail, and it shows!
