The Mizuno Contender was originally released in 1995. It was introduced at the same time as Mizuno's Mondo Control with design ideas from Mizuno's founder; Rhiachi Mizuno. The Contender derived its design from the Mondo series. The upper is made of mesh with synthetic leather and suede. Reflective details on the heel provide extra safety during dark rides.
